Home / Equipment loans
The equipment pays for itself, or it should.
Trucks, trailers, manufacturing plant and the rest of what an Indiana business runs on. New and used.
What we lend on.
Equipment finance is secured by the machine itself, which is why it often works when a general business loan does not.
Trucks and trailers
Tractors, trailers and the equipment an owner operator runs on. First truck or tenth, new or used. This is the biggest thing we do and it has a page of its own.
Manufacturing and plant
Production machinery, fabrication equipment, and the fit-out that comes with moving into a bigger building. We finance production machinery of most kinds. These tend to be smaller-dollar loans, sized to the equipment and to what the business can carry.
Other commercial equipment
Construction plant, yellow iron, commercial kitchen, medical, printing, agricultural. If it is a titled or serial-numbered asset a business uses to earn, it is worth asking about. No category on that list is off the table.
Refinancing equipment you already own
Pulling cash back out of machines that are already paid for, or consolidating several equipment notes into one. We do this. We do not offer sale-leaseback, but a business line of credit secured against equipment and other business assets often does the same job.
Section 179, and why December is busy.
Section 179 lets a business deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, rather than depreciating it over years. That is why equipment financing spikes at the end of the year. The deadline is the tax calendar, not the weather.
The part that drives the applications: you can finance the equipment with little or nothing down and still deduct the full purchase price in year one. The deduction is not limited to what you actually paid out, which is why the placed-in-service date matters more than the invoice date.
- Maximum deduction, tax year 2026
- $2,560,000
- Reduces dollar for dollar past
- $4,090,000
- Sport utility vehicle cap
- $32,000
- Bonus depreciation, first year
- 100%
We are not tax advisers. Section 179 is limited by your business taxable income, and how it applies to you is a question for your CPA. Bonus depreciation is a permanent 100% first-year deduction for qualifying property acquired after January 19, 2025. The figures above are the published IRS limits for 2026, not advice.
The quote is the first thing a lender wants, not the last.
Equipment files move quickly when the invoice, the specification and the serial number are there on day one, and stall for two weeks when they are not. Send us the quote before you apply and we will tell you what else that particular machine will need.
What to have ready.
Less than a property file. Usually much less.
- The quote, invoice or specification sheet for the equipment
- Personal tax returns for the last three years, all pages
- Business tax returns for the last three years, all pages
- Business bank statements for the last three to six months
- A current debt schedule
- Valid photo identification for each owner, and your entity documents
- For used equipment: hours or mileage, and the serial or VIN
